Celler Moli dels Capellans was born in 2007, as a shared passion and vision of Sergi Montala and Jordi Masdeu, with the objective to produce boutique wines from D.O. Conca de Barbera. Applying traditional processes and vanguard elaboration methods, Celler Moli dels Capellans specializes in high quality and a unique range of wines including Chardonnay, Tempranillo-Shiraz, Parellada and Cabernet Sauvignon-Tempranillo.

100% Chardonnay found at 500m above the sea level in the Vimbodi-Poblet district. The south-west orientation of our vineyards gives the perfect condition for optimum ripening. Hand picked and temperature controlled with full malolactic fermentation during the six months in new French Allier oak barriques. Aged eight months before release.The 2007 Chardonnay shows complexity and finesse with a surprisingly retained level of acidity to give an extremely well balanced wine. The initial long palate shows tropical fruit flavors with a rich creamy character from the gentle use of French oak and gives way to a long and concentrated aftertaste.

Juicy, finely etched tropical fruit flavors are braced by a zesty mineral quality and gain power with aeration. Dry, focused and spicy on the finish, with the peach and honeysuckle notes recurring."

The Tempranillo-Shiraz vines for this wine are found at 450m above the sea level in the Solivella district. Low yields hand-picking the best parcels provides us excellent grape concentration and intensive fruit flavors that we are looking for the blend of our Seleccio. Separately vinified with long cool macerations at controlled temperatures in stainless steel. The wine is then aged for six months in new French Allier with medium toast followed by six months in bottle before release into the market. Gentle soft tannins that are well balanced with the mouth filling fresh fruit and spicy notes. This leads into a long finish, where elegance and intensity are cherished, and the clean fresh fruit flavors stand out and do not need to rely on a heavy hand of raw oak to add character and intensity.

Sappy, pure and youthfully tight, with precise definition to the flavors of black raspberry and bitter cherry. Betrays no rough edges and finishes with very good mineral cut and precision. Just lacks a bit of flesh for outstanding."

Moli dels Capellans Cabernet Sauvignon Premium is a limited edition wine produced in exceptional vintages such as 2007 from single vineyard old vine Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was aged for 18 months in new French oak. Deep purple color, pepper and spice. Dark and rich, earth and clay, black fruits and brine, very concentrated. Very fine finish. Only 200 cases and 133 Magnums of this red were created, making this wine uniquie and hand crafted. INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLAR JOSH RAYNOLDS-90 "Glass-staining ruby. Pungent, highly aromatic bouquet evokes cherry and dark berry preserves, woodsmoke and vanilla, with a spicy overlay. Lush and expansive, offering sweet blackcurrant and cherry flavors and a hint of bitter licorice. Finishes sweet and smooth, with lingering oak spice notes. This is pretty delicious right now."
