This winery was founded in 2000 and is owned by the famous sherry making family Alvear from Montilla. The property is located near the city of Badajoz in southwest Spain less than an hour drive from the Portuguese border. The 4,000 hectare estate contains an enormous olive grove and the winery which consists of 100 hectares made up primarily of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

100% Tempranillo aged in American oak for 6 months. This wine yields very rich black forest fruits, but was not allowed to hang excessively on the vine as demonstrated by its well balanced acidity. Smoky and rich, this is a great wine to be drunk alone, served with hearty meals, but also shows aging potential.

One of Spain's premiere Syah's as chosen by Jose Penin as well as WS-89, this is 90% Syrah and 10% Merlot. Aged in French oak for 6 months, this exhibits ripe, yet restrained fruit on the nose and the palate. Great concentration and grip, the oak is well integrated. The winemaking is precise with attention paid to balance and harmony.
